It’s time to-

  • Empty the storage unit you’ve been paying for the last several years
  • Manage the estate of a recently passed loved one
  • Downsize your home or that of a family member

All of these situations can be overwhelming to the point we suffer ‘paralysis by analysis' or we decide ‘inaction is as close to action as we are going to get right now’.

In our experience, starting with the large pieces is the best place to start.  You immediately see progress!  Once the bigger pieces are out of the way, you can tackle the smaller things. 

 

While our estate consignments are larger and more involved than our regular consignments, they do follow some of the same steps. 

  1. Download the consignment contract. Read and fill it out as much as possible. The item list on the back will be filled out later
  2. Email pictures of your furniture and large home décor items to us at consign@theredefinery.org. Send multiple views/angles and in good lighting.
  3. Include any and all information about the items, your timeline, your goals
  4. Give us 24 hours to respond.

Once we’ve received and reviewed all of the above, one of our Consignment Team members will call you to schedule an appointment for a site visit.  There is a $50 non-refundable fee.

On the day of your site visit, our Consignment Team member will go over your goals, the process and how we can best serve you. There are a few things we’ll need you to do before we arrive-

  1. Secure any pets.
  2. Make sure all furniture you’d like to consign can be seen easily—tops, sides, backs.
  3. Check the lighting in the rooms. If necessary, have a flashlight handy.
  4. Clean/repair furniture and other items
  5. Clear walkways for easy access to rooms, attics, basements.

Our Consignment Team member will walk through with you and examine all of the pieces.  If they feel we can successfully consign an item, they will put blue mover’s tape on the pieces. If, after our appointment, you decide not to consign that item, simply remove the tape and update us via email.

We will send over a catalog of items we will consign and ask you to review and indicate prices you would like to see on the items.  We will work with you to arrive at a mutually beneficial price.

Just like our other consignments, we will split the proceeds of all sales with your 50/50.
